Starting to get ready.....

So I have started getting things in for the nursery and I am getting very excited! We got the rug in and the nursery baskets that match our pattern. My mom bought all the crib bedding and now I am waiting on that to get here. Once that is here, I will go pick out a paint color!!! I also got the decals this week that will go on the wall after we paint.

Before we can start painting the nursery, we have to take all of Austin and Kaleb's toys out of there. I have been looking for some storage for their room to put all of their things in. This week I found some storage cubbies on craigslist. Someone bought them at an auction from Rockingham County Schools. They are great cubbies and just need to be cleaned up a little. Hopefully we will have one ready to go in their room by tomorrow and can start moving things in.

Peanut is moving around alot lately. He doesn't like it when I take a hot bath, so we will have to talk about that. I really enjoy soaking in the tub. :-) I go in 2 weeks for my glucose test. Hopefully everything will be normal there. I start rotating through all the doctors this visit. It will be nice to meet everyone else in the practice. I really like my doctor's office and so far everyone who works there.

Josh and I have been looking for new bedroom furniture this week. Josh has had the set we have now since he was in high school and it is time for a change. We are upgrading to a king size bed (FINALLY). Between the two of us and both dogs, we need more room! I can't wait because I have been sleeping on the couch alot lately because the bed just isn't comfortable anymore.

One day I'll take some pictures and upload them. Until then.....

Prenatal Massage!

For Christmas, Josh got me 2 prenatal massages from Balance Day Spa. After rescheduling twice already, I FINALLY got to go tonight!! It was amazing. If you are pregnant, or will be soon, you should go get a prenatal massage. It was great. They had this awesome pillow and I got to lay on my stomach, which I haven't been able to do in forever. It was very relaxing and I can't wait to go back for the next one. Maybe someone will buy me another one for my birthday!

A Blog for Carey and her Mom!

I have to make a special blog post for two ladies who are angels in my book! A couple months ago, right after I found out I was pregnant, I also found out that some things I had in someone else's storage unit got auctioned off without my knowledge. Among those things was a big scrapbook bag I had, including all of Austin and Kaleb's baby pictures. I was devastated. I cried for days. I called the storage company who contacted the person who bought the unit items and said that all they could do was contact them and give them my information. I had not heard anything and thought that I would never see those pictures again.
I just knew that I was going to have all these pictures of the new baby and nothing to show for Austin and Kaleb. Week before last, I got a random friend request on facebook. Then a message from the same person. She said that her mom had bought some stuff at a yard sale and she believed that she had my pictures. She said that the boys were Austin and Kaleb and their mom was April Russ and went to UNCG. I immediately started crying. I couldn't even finish reading the message before I started replying to her. Not only did they have my pictures, they had also saved the pages out of the scrapbooks that I had already started. I met Carey's mom last week and she returned my pictures to me. The two of them will never know how much it meant to me that total strangers decided to look for me to give me my pictures back. I sat at home that night for hours just looking through the pictures and crying. There was one picture in there that could never be replaced. It was a picture of Austin, myself, my mom, my grandma and my great grandmother. My great grandmother has since passed away and that is the only picture we have of the five generations of my family.
I want to say Thank You to Carey and her mom for being good people. They could have just thrown those pictures away, but took the time to search for me and meet me and give me back my memories that I thought I may never get back.

22 weeks!.... and a cold, rainy day.

Well, today is 22 weeks. It doesn't seem like it has been that long. We only have about 17 weeks to go because we will have a scheduled c-section. That's not long at all. It seems like the time is flying.

I am at home again today because I have the flu. I have been resting since Thursday afternoon and feel much better today. But I decided that I would stay home and rest today just to make sure I was 100% before I went back to work. I don't want to miss any more work than I have to.

The baby has been moving around alot lately and he is not a big fan of the doppler. He doesnt like it when I push on my belly and kicks me pretty hard when I do. I'm getting pretty excited!

I was supposed to go on Sunday for my first prenatal massage. Since I was sick, I cancelled it and can't wait to reschedule it. Josh bought me 2 prenatal massages for Christmas. I'm going to reschedule one for this week I think and then the other in late April or Early May. Work is really stressing me out and I can't wait for the massage.

We haven't bought anything new for the baby since the last post, but we did buy a storm door for the front of the house. It was nice to be able to open it yesterday and let some sunlight in. It's going to be wonderful in the Spring to be able to leave the door open and open up the screen.

Strangely, I have been craving so many different kinds of food. One of my favorite things has been pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. A couple weeks ago, it was chocolate fudge ice cream. Who knows what I will want next week? I just hope it is something good. I also haven't been craving many sweet things; mainly salty things. I don't know which is worse.

My next doctor appointment is this Friday at 3:30. I think they will do another ultrasound because there were some measurements they were unable to get last time we were there. After that, I will heading down to Bolivia to my cousin and his wife's baby shower.

We are starting to look at different names and are really having a hard time. It's so hard trying to find something to go with Austin and Kaleb :-) Any suggestions are welcome.

It's been a while....

It's been a couple of weeks since I updated the blog. Things have been so crazy with the weather and work.... did I mention things have been crazy at work? Ugh!!!

Today I am just sitting at home on the couch. I woke up Tuesday morning with a sore throat and cough. I decided yesterday morning that I would call my doctor because I didn't want it to turn into something more serious. My OB suggested that I go to Urgent Care in case they needed to x-ray to see if I had bronchitis. After sitting at Urgent Care for 2 and a half hours, a q-tip up my nose, and 2 tubes of blood later, I find out I have the flu! Really? I have never had the flu.... I never get the shot. So now, I have no choice but to sit around and rest, which is fine, but my house still looks like a hurricane came through it.

Last weekend my mom came up and brought me something that I found on craigslist in Wilmington! I found a baby doppler to listen to the baby's heartbeat. It's the greatest thing ever!!! I can listen to my little peanut's heartbeat anytime I want. This morning it was about 147. I can't wait to share it when I am done with it and pass it on to Chris and Jeanna.

I went this week and bought the stroller/carseat combo. I know its early, but the one I registered for is being discontinued and I wanted it. I liked it, that's why I picked it, and I went and got it.

My next OB appointment is next Friday. So far I have lost about 5 pounds and I can't wait to get a weight update. I'm sure the weight loss can't last much longer. I eat like a pig and he was already weighing a little more than normal at our last visit. So, as long as he is healthy, that's all that matters. We will make our first big payment to the doctor's office next Friday too and that is sure to hurt!

I think that is enough updating for now.... it's time to lay back down on the couch and force myslef to rest. I'll try and post some u/s pics soon!

Another snowy day....

So I woke up this morning to about two more inches of snow on the ground. It was the giant snowflakes, the big wet ones that make the perfect snowballs! The only thing to throw them at was the dog. Maggie loves to chase them and then eat them. Yeah, so no school again today.... I feel like it is summer again. I am having to find something to keep the boys occupied almost every day this week. But, it has been a nice break! Yesterday was the only day that we have been to school this week. It's crazy!

I'm starting to gather things for the new baby. When Kaleb was three, we decided that we were done and weren't having any more babies. So, we got rid of everything! Funny how things work out that way :-) So, we are literally starting over with this one. Craigslist has become my new best friend and I figure if I just buy a couple of things here and there, it won't be so bad, right?

I picked up two green cloth baskets at Target that I thought were cute. They are a dark green with lighter green polka dots on them. They will be great for storing things in the dresser/changer. Every once in a while I will find something else to add to the registry, but sometimes I just buy it instead! Is that silly? Alot of the things that we have on the registry are big items, but I'm hoping that I'll get lots of clothes and diapers and gift cards for shower gifts.

Back to Work!

Ugh.... do we really have to go back? I haven't seen my fifth graders since last Wednesday. I took Thursday and Friday off for doctor appointments and then we have had three snow days this week! What will I do in the morning? It's probably a good thing we have a two hour delay! It might take us that long to get back into our routine :-) When I say "we" I mean the boys and I. Josh won't even notice.

It's been nice doing nothing, but its back to the grind tomorrow. I gotta catch up on laundry, lesson plans, etc. But today was a fun day. I had lunch with the boys. Then we went and met Chris and Caitlin at Once Upon a Child. We ran around all afternoon and then had dinner. Now we are all back home and watching the hockey game..... GO CANES!

You'll be happy to know that peanut was kicking the crap out of me last night.... maybe before he was just sleeping... for three days... who knows? But there has been lots of movement last night and today. Nothing super exciting to report really. Time for us all to get ready for bed.

On a side note..... I FINALLY got the comments boxes fixed... I think :-) It has only taken me 2 whole days. We will see if it works now. Yay!
